Ram trucks and Dodge vehicles are very popular with automotive customers, with their impressive capabilities, excellent performance, quality designs, durability, and many wonderful features. This was recently confirmed by the 2019 J.D. Power Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, with Ram and Dodge taking the top two spots, respectively, among mass-market brands.
What is the J.D. Power APEAL Study?
The J.D. Power APEAL Study features owners’ assessments of their new vehicle after 90 days of ownership. The APEAL Study is utilized by automotive manufacturers to gain a better understanding of quality and design satisfaction from customers. The study is based on more than 77 vehicle attributes in 10 categories, including driving dynamics, engine/transmission, fuel economy, visibility and safety, exterior, seats, interior, storage and space, audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN), and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
Major Improvement for FCA for the J.D. Power APEAL Study
This year marks a significant improvement for FCA for the J.D. Power APEAL Study. Overall, FCA jumped five places to seventh, compared with its 2018 APEAL performance. FCA placed 2nd for mass-market automakers. Ram jumped 26 points to take the top spot, which is the greatest improvement by any automotive brand in the study. The Dodge Challenger once again took the top spot for the Midsize Sporty Car category. The Dodge Durango placed 2nd for the Midsize SUV category, while the Dodge Charger placed 2nd for the Large Car category.
